Diversity & Belonging

You don’t have to read far in the Scriptures to know we were made for community.  The beauty of biblical community is that our oneness in Christ is all the more glorious.

Unity in diversity aligns with biblical vision of God’s kingdom because it comes not at the expense of diversity, but couched in diversity as we see in Revelation 7:9-10 (ESV): “After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, ‘Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!’”

Rev. Timothy Torres to Serve as the Pastor to the College

In August 2022, Rev. Timothy Torres joined the President’s Leadership team as the Pastor of the College. As President Kiedis shared with faculty and staff, “Pastor Torres’ initial approach will be listening and learning the LBC | Capital community at all locations. I have asked him to focus particularly on diversity and belonging, utilizing a discipleship perspective ‘alongside’ of students/faculty/staff and teaching on key terms from a biblical perspective. The Pastor to the College functions as a ‘prophet’ to speak truth to LBC | Capital, a ‘priest’ to care and intercede and, in a kingdom fashion, to lead the effort defending those who might easily be neglected.”
